I am trained in ethics and political philosophy and teach graduate-level courses in the Department of Philosophy in these areas. My research specialty is business ethics. I offer graduate-level courses in that subject area through the Carlson School of Management, where I hold a joint appointment as the Elmer Andersen Chair in Corporate Responsibility. My current research interests focus on ethical issues in management, the ethical foundations of capitalism, leadership, and meaningful work. I recently completed a book that applies Kant's moral philosophy to business. My co-edited text on business ethics is in its sixth edition. Currently, I am working on a book on management ethics and editing the Guide to Business Ethics in the Guides of Philosophy series.
